Clear Insights. Actionable Support.
A Path Forward.

Whether you’re a parent seeking clarity around a child’s learning needs or a school district looking for accurate, strengths-based evaluations, the goal is the same: understanding that leads to progress.

Our psychoeducational evaluations go beyond scores. We look at how a student learns, processes information, and engages with their environment, so decisions can be made with confidence and intention.

We Understand

Because students deserve more than a score. They deserve to be understood.

I’m Dr. Reena Shah, a Licensed Educational Psychologist (LEP), mom, and owner of Discovery Education Specialists, a California-based non-public agency supporting students, families, and school districts.

As both a provider and a parent, I understand how important it is for children to be truly seen and understood — not just tested. Every child comes with a unique story, strengths, and needs that deserve thoughtful, individualized attention.

At Discovery Education Specialists, my team and I provide comprehensive, strengths-based, and individually tailored psychoeducational evaluations that help schools and families clearly understand a student’s learning profile. Our work is grounded in neuro-affirming, trauma-informed, and data-driven practices, ensuring that recommendations are both meaningful and actionable.

We partner closely with school districts, SELPAs, and families to bridge communication gaps and support informed decision-making. Transparency, empathy, and professionalism guide every step of our process — from assessment to collaboration — with the shared goal of helping students access the support they need to thrive.
